Today I will discuss Vipreet Rajyoga, the reason I chose Vipreet Rajyoga is because of the wide confusion over it.
There is not much information available on this Yoga.
So I thought to do some work on it.
Sage Parashar in his work BPHS didn't describe good results for placements of dusthana lords in other dusthana houses.
For example as per Parashar 6th house lord when making a planetary association with the 8th house via house placement, makes one immoral, a chaser of someone else's wife, and sickly in nature.
You can gauge by these words that in no wild imagination, it's an Astrology Rajyoga.
Though Parashar described some better results of placements of 8th and 12th lords in other dusthanta houses still they are far from what can be called as Rajyoga.
Later centuries sages like Vaharmira and most notably Kalidasa in his great astrological work Kalamritam described results that can be termed as Rajyoga.
As per Kalidasa following definition is given by him on Veepreet Rajyoga.
Kalidas in Classic Uttarkalmitra -Kanda 4 sloka 22
“if the lords of the houses 6, 8 and 12 occupy either jointly or individually the houses 6, 8 and 12 or if they are in any manner connected with the houses 6 or 8 or 12 provided these planets do not have any connection with other planets not owning 6 or 8 or 12, then the person will be a king and he will command much wealth and will establish a good name and enjoy his life.”
In Vedic astrology, these houses are considered challenging houses and are associated with results such as debts, accidents, debts, defeats, humiliation, sickness, isolation, etc.
While these are naturally challenging houses, this configuration suggests that the troubles or adversities indicated by these houses will ultimately lead to success or gains. It signifies the ability to turn adverse situations to one's advantage.

Further, the Vipreet rajyoga is divided into three more forms.
- Harsha yoga.
- Sarala yoga.
- Vimala yoga.
Harsha Vipreet Yoga
Harsha yoga is formed by the 6th house lord which signifies the following in Vedic astrology:
- Enemies.
- Litigation.
- Debts.
- Theft.
- Sickness.
- Humiliation.
- Extortion.
- Work-related stress.
- Challenges in daily life.
When the lord of the 6th house is placed in the 8th or 12th house then Harsha Yoga is formed.
The person born in Harsha Yoga will be endowed with happiness, enjoyment, good fortune, strong constitution will overcome his enemies, and will be afraid to commit sinful acts he will become a friend of illustrious and prominent people.
Let’s see an example of Harsha yoga.
We all know the story of the greatest scientist Albert Einstein. He had dyslexia and could not speak properly until he was 6 years old. See, in his Horoscope the 6th house lord is placed in the 8th house which is well known to cause health issues.
Same time the 8th house is of research and PhD and that is where his Harsha yoga made him achieve success.
Sarala Vipreet Yoga
Sarala yoga is formed by the 8th house lord which rules over the following significations:
- Death.
- Chronic health issues.
- Hidden enemies.
- Psychological Complexities.
- Poor finances.
When the 8th house lord is placed in either the 6th or 12th house Sarala yoga is formed. The person born in Sarala Yoga will be long-lived resolute, fearless, prosperous, and will be endowed with learning, children, and riches. He will achieve success in his undertakings, overcome his foes, and be pure and widely celebrated.
Let’s see an example of Sarala yoga. the horoscope given below belongs to V.P Singh who was the 7th Prime Minister of India and the only former Royal to ever become the head of India.
Sarala yoga allowed him the distinction of becoming the prime minister of India despite being an erstwhile royal. His selection for the post arises due to the unstable political scenario which is a classic result of Vipreet Rajyoga.
Vimala Vipreet Yoga
Sarala yoga is formed by the 12th house lord which rules over the following significations:
- Expenses.
- Isolation.
- Confinement.
- Losses.
- Insanity.
When the lord of the 12th house is placed in the 6th or the 8th house Vimala Yoga is formed.
The person born in Vimala Yoga will spend little and save much money. He will be good to everybody, will be happy and independent, will have a respectable profession or conduct, and be renowned for his good qualities.
Now the question arises as to why these yoga were not given importance by the father of astrology Sage Parashar himself.
The reason is the evolution of society, sage Parashar existed 5000 years ago and the dynamics of society were very simple at that time.
Later on, in “Kaliyuga” things changed and people started to have a different way of life.
During Parashar times anything different used to be considered bad and people used to stick to traditional values.
Considering this important factor sages in later ages changed the results of many yogas and VIPREET RAJYOGA came into existence.
Veepreet in Hindi means obstacles and in layman’s language, Veepreet Rajyoga means victory or gains after initial struggles.
Here the concept of negative plus negative equal to positive can be applied.
Observations On Vipreet Rajyoga
The following points were observed practically on Veepreet Rajyoga.
1. Harsha yoga makes one prone to injuries when formed by the 6th lord placement in the 8th house.
6th house is a house of diseases and 8th house is a malefic house which represents death also.
Now since it is Veepreet Rajyoga there have to be some negative results which in this case is bad health.
2. Harsha yoga makes one win court cases especially when the 6th house lord is placed in the 8th house because the 6th house is a house of allegations and when placed in the 8th house it tends to destroy the negative significations of the 6th house.
Both these results can be seen in the Horoscope of Salman Khan.
He is suffering from nerve pain in the face which is considered as worst pain that can happen to a human and same time he was never found guilty in any of the criminal cases against him.
3. Harsha yoga, when formed by the placement of the 6th house lord in the 12th house, doesn’t give health issues but gives very strong enemies which gives stiff competition and being the best out of your or you get rewarded for his mistakes.
Like in the case of politicians most of the time one enjoys the unexpected benefits of his competitor.
For more examples of Harsha yoga, you check the horoscope of Mother Theresa.
In her horoscope also she enjoyed working for unprivileged people which comes under the 6th house.
4. Sarala yoga, when formed by the placement of the 8th lord in the 6th house, gives very fame by defeating enemies but same time makes one give wounds or injury by them.
Check the horoscope of Che Guevara where the 8th lord of death & destruction is sitting in the 6th house of enemies.
5. Sarala yoga is found in the horoscope of rebels and powerful kings or other words Sarala yoga native found to have power in society.
For example, check the horoscope of Margret Alva a prominent and respected politician from India.
She is of Pisces ascendant and 8th lord Venus is in the 12th house which creates a strong Vipreet Rajyoga. She gained a prominent position in her Venus subperiod but same time lost her Father also.
In the horoscope of Napolean Bonaparte 8th lord Mars is in the 12th house generating a Vipreet Rajyoga.
In the horoscope of Martin Luther King, the 8th lord Jupiter is in the 12th house creating a strong Sarala Vipreet Rajyoga.
One more pattern was observed that when planets involved in Veepreet Rajyoga aspects their own house then less amount of good results were felt.
For example, the 6th house lord in the 8th house is more powerful than the 6th lord in the 12th house.
Because here 6th lord is aspecting its own house making it strong inherently.
Whereas Veepreet Rajyoga deals with weakness and subsequently overcoming that weakness.
In the case of Sarala yoga where the 8th house can’t aspect its own house Sarala yoga with the 8th lord in the 12th house was found to be stronger than the 8th lord in the 6th house.
Same way Vimala Yoga is stronger when the 12th lord is in the 8th house for example Sachin Tendulkar.
Now as per many, there are other ways also which can form Veepreet Rajyoga like mutual aspect relationship of these dusthanta lords.
This is wrong and Veepreet Rajyoga can’t be formed this way unless it is happening in the dusthanta house itself.
Same way exchange of these house lords doesn’t make Veepreet Rajyoga unless happening in these houses themselves.
Suppose in a horoscope the 8th lord is in the ascendant and the 6th lord is in the 7th house making a mutual aspect relationship with them.
This won’t make Veepreet Rajyoga instead it will destroy the whole horoscope due to their affliction over two major important houses.
I hope I have cleared some confusion from your mind but astrology is all about reading charts and rules as much as possible.
Conclusion
One thing for sure is that Vipreet rajyoga works and gives great results but not all natives will enjoy the good effects of it.
It is important to understand that to enjoy the results of Vipreet raj yoga one needs to have other rajyoga and a strong horoscope.
For example, Margret Alva who got great results in her Venus sub-period and is making a Vipreet raj yoga also has Dharma karma adhipati yoga in her horoscope, plus a benefic Moon in the 1st house and an exalted Sun in the 2nd.
Similarly, in the horoscope of Albert Einstein, the 6th house lord is exalted in the 8th house making a Harsha Vipreet yoga have other raj yoga as well i.e Malvya yoga, etc.
Without the presence of other traditional yoga, the native can not experience the good effects of Vipreet rajyoga.
I am Pisces lagan, with lagan Lord sitting in 9th house,in vrashchik rashi and Lord of this 9th house mangal and guru seeing each other, and Lord of 8th house Venus is in 12th house in kumbh rashi with Lord of 12th house shani seeing this house, what yoga is being formed.

Question 1 :-
So I am currently going through Guru mahadasha and Shukra antardasha, I am really worried about my upcoming shani mahadasha, various peeople have scared me about shani mahadasha, I want to know your view as to how my Shani mahadaha would be, though its retro in Dhanu in 6th house, its aspected my Guru, , ketu Shukra & Bhudha and also as 8th lord, he is placed is 6th house, will it be bad, worse, good or average? any remedies which you would suggest?
Question 2 :-

Again being born in Cancer ascendant I consider myself unlucky though I am homely, friendly and caring, I have heard Cancer ascendant people often have bad partners 🙁 Are there any indications of divorce or any trouble? I am yet to get married in a year or so.

Hello Anirudh this is huge data to process and best is to opt for my services for same.
Hello Naveen, My question is that i am cancer ascendant and i am having venus and mars conjuction in 4th house in Libra Sign. Can you tell if its good or not.
And
I am currently going through rahu mahadasha and i am having sun mercury and rahu conjuction in 2nd house in leo sign. Is it good ?
And One Last
I am having jupiter in capricorn and saturn in pisces
Hello Karan, the conjunction of Venus and Mars is auspicious for your horoscope because Mars is Yogakaraka and Venus is lord of 4th and 11th house lord. Though the presence of Rahu and Mercury in 2nd house is not a good union in your horoscope and will affect your finances negatively. Sun is in own sign which can counter their bad results.
Regarding Rahu mahadasha nothing concrete can be said without looking into horoscope properly because there are many factors which can change results of dasha and planets.

Hello, no it’s no VPRY but 12th lord in own house is a good placement. For VPRY 6,8,12 should be related to each other. In their own sign they give good signification of their own house.

Yes it is Veepreet yoga but still other factors also mattera
It is a veepreet raj yoga.Hope it helped
I am libra ascendant. BOT 12/01/1966. 6 Th Lord jupiter seating in 8 th house of Taurus with Rahu . Is it effective viprit raj yoga?
Yes it is a effective Veepreet yoga but to take it full advantage a horoscope should have other prominent Raj yoga also.
Hi. can you help me with this case please: libra ascendant, debilitated venus in 12th, as lord of 8th. Jupiter in 12th as lord of 6th. Saturn in 12th as lord of 4th and 5th (raja yoga). plus raja yoga from venus and saturn. 1st and 5th. so what the heck is going on in 12th house???
Hello,
I have question here and that is in Gemini Ascendant, Saturn and Venus rules 8,9 and 5,12 respectively so will they give rise to vipreet raj yoga..? for example Saturn is yoga karaka being lord of 9 but if placed in 6th or 12th will it still create vipreet raj yoga,..?
Hello Milan, here its get lil tricky. For a fully effective Vipreet Raj Yoga, planets involved should not have any relation with other houses apart from 6th,8th and 12th. Any relation of auspicious houses spoils the vipreet raj yoga. For special cases like Gemini ascendent where planets have simultaneously lordship over auspicious houses, concerned planet should be weak in strength in oder to create effective vipreet raj yoga.
Vipreet itself means obstacles thats why is created by inauspicious house lords.
Let me elaborate it here,
Suppose saturn here is lord of 8th and 9th house then technically saturn is a auspicious planet due its lordship over the most auspicious house i.e 9th.But still many gemini people suffer in saturn dasha.
One more things to note here is that due to its lordship over 9th house,it doesn’t mean that gemini native won’t feel effects of 8th house in their lives.
Saturn will always carry shades of 8th and 9th house. Its a matter of its strength and transits which decides weather it will act as 8th house lord or 9th.
If it is weak by shadbala or even by asthakavarga then saturn will give result of 8th rather then 9th.Its a common rule that any planet should be strong to give good results of its lordship house.
So here if saturn is weak and is placed in 6th(scorpio) then it will create vipreet rajyoga and if placed in 12th then again good results of Veepreet rajyoga will be observed. The only condition in this case is that planet should be weak by strength especially in navamsha.
Same way for cancer ascendent Jupiter rules over 6th and 9th house and of weak and placed in 8th or 12th will give vipreet rajyoga.
